Have you ever been in a flashmob?
Have you ever started just dancing randomly in public and watched as so many people around you light up!?
Are you feeling stressed and want to step outside your comfort zone?
I am SO excited for our flashmob that is coming up next Saturday May 7, 2011 at 12:30 pm. Yes this is not a flashmob that we are keeping secret.
This is a HUGE flashmob that we want to tell EVERYONE about! So tell your friends, tell your family, tell your dog (oh wait, no dogs allowed! sorry) and watch this youtube video!
Wait: Can we practice in person?
YES! This Monday, May 2 from 6-7pm we are going to run it once (maybe twice) during my Groove Class that takes place every Monday at 310 Danforth Avenue (right beside the Big Carrot off the Chester subway or DVP if you drive). Bring your friends! It is going to be so much fun!
Wait:What is a flashmob you ask?
A flashmob is a "randomly" prearranged dance routine that seems to start out of the blue in a selected busy public place. Many have been done at malls, subway stations, train stations, schools etc etc. This one is going to be a little different as we are doing it with 1200 people (I believe it is Canada's largest) at a conference. The theme is that everyone will be wearing blasers and suit jackets. It is all about celebrating your freedom and we want people to whip off their jackets when they jump in to start dancing. Many people feel trapped in their lives. Trapped in the day to day 9-5 and we want to let people know that it is their choice if they want to free themselves! So we are going to just DANCE! It is also to raise awareness for Cindy Ashton's tour which is launching on April 27!
How this is different and how you can be involved!
This is a flashmob that everyBODY CAN DO! (seriously, I wouldn't lie about this). This is more of a Groove Method inspired flashmob. SO instead of complicated choreography that only 5 people out of 100 can actually do, we have 5 simple moves that everyone can do and then we are going to GROOVE them. By that I mean that we move around the space and invite everyone to do them in their own way. It has never been done before and since there is going to be around 1200 people a part of this we figured we have to keep it as simple as possible so that it can be RIDICULOUSLY fun !!
Here is the link! Please email me if you would like to be a part of it. We need to have an accurate count of people!

And remember: Just Dance, It's Not that SERIOUS!!
